Application Procedures
These guidelines should prove helpful if your organization is interested in applying to our Foundation for a grant.  A meeting is required prior to submitting an application.

 Ten copies of your application are needed. 

Applications are considered at our Board of Trustees meetings as follows:

Every effort will be made to notify the applicant of the receipt of the completed application within 15 working days.

All Applications Must Include:
General Information
·        History, development and mission of your organization
·        Names, qualifications and positions of involved personnel        
·        Names and affiliations of Board Members
·        Copy of your organization’s IRS exemption letter     

Financial Information
·        Most recent and prior year financial statements
         certified by your Chief Financial Officer or Certified Public Accountant
·        Source of your organization’s funds for this project/  program and the current year
·        Current operating and capital budget      

Project/Program Information
·        Project/program objective, description and need
·        Geographic area to be served
·        Outline of project/program phases from beginning to end
·        Detailed project/program budget, including funding requested from the Decker      
         Foundation and funding requests from other sources
·        How success of your project/program will be measured
.        For construction projects a minimum of two bids from viable contractors must be provided

The Decker Foundation will not make grants directly to individuals.  Further as a general rule, we will not make grants for:
·        Endowments
·        Religious organizations for religious purposes
·        Operating expenses
·        Continuing support
·        Travel and trips

Additional Information
Grants are made upon the approval of the Board of Trustees.
Generally, grants are made on a one-year basis, and will be paid on a mutually agreeable
schedule.
Recipients must report periodically:
·        Acknowledging receipt of the grant
·        Progress reports on expenditure of funds awarded
·        Upon termination of the grant period, a complete accounting of all disbursements
·        Project success versus expectations

Grant amounts are not based on a specific formula, but instead on a full review of individual circumstances and the fundraising strategy proposed by the applicant.  Applications for amounts under $5,000 are considered at any time and must meet the same guidelines as applications for larger amounts, except for the deadlines.  For grants of $5,000 or smaller, only one copy of application is needed.
